23-25 August - Holme Pierrepont, Nottingham
It's back! After a massively successful inaugural year, the Nottingham gathering's back.
Running on August Bank Holiday at Holme Pierrepont, it's as suited to enthusiastic first-timers as it is to seasoned subsurface experts. Features and attractions include:
'Come and try it' fleet
We'll have all the toys available to take for a sink, ranging from retro classics like Bigfoots and Shreds to brand-new-this-season vessels like the Wisper and Jekyll - all as free demo boats.
Squirt clinics
We'll be running workshops with some of the sport's top coaches and paddlers, including GB squirt team coach Ben White (.com). Sessions will be flexible enough to stretch your skills, whatever your standard!
King of the concrete
The international mystery competition's back! Now in its second year, this pure downtime format tests paddlers' skills and lungs to the limits. Hoping for a better show from the hand-paddlers this year.
This year we'll also run a side-by-side 'quick dunk' contest for paddlers who are getting to grips with mystery moves.
Vindaloo squirt
A chance to catch up with everyone else over a relaxed korma, we'll arrange a visit to a local Indian restaurant for Saturday night for a tasty, filling banquet.
Squirtfest t-shirts
And would anyone be interested in some event t-shirts? If so, I can sort out a design and get various options made available.
I'll post up some more info nearer the time, but this should give you a guideline to what to expect. The gathering's free, but you will need to pay for access to the course at HPP as normal. As for accommodation, I'd recommend Holme Pierrepont campsite - phone them on 0115 982 4721 to book.

Check out that handsome devil at the top of the page!
Might not be able to make the weekend - I seem to remember that I'm doing something else about then - cant for the life of me remember what it is though! Shame as I fancied representing the hand paddlers amongst us!
Save me a T-shirt though please!

trouble is getting a mixed aged group into a venue big enough with no confirmed numbers whilst not taking deposits on a bank holiday saturday within 3 miles of HPP. last years venue ticks all these boxes.
BUT, for those not so keen on the indian food, you can always order "seperately" and have omlette or scampi or steak. if there are a couple of people in that frame then u couldd sit togethr on the end and have your own waiter ! _________________ grub scrub blub flub nub |
